Sustainability and Education Center
Formerly known as the CONAPAC Amazon Library
We are excited to announce a new focus in our commitment to providing educational opportunities to those living along the Amazon River of Peru - The EKOAMAZON Sustainability and Education Center!
The existing facility - stewarded by our friends at CONAPAC since 2011 - has been dedicated to promoting literacy in Yanamono II and Palmeras II since 1999. We are eager to take the reins on January 1, 2019 and to ensure the library’s viability for the future!
We will have the unique opportunity to oversee and develop extracurricular programs for children and adults - with the intention of expanding the facility’s breadth and depth of offerings.
We intend to work with groups in the U.S. and Peru in order to offer children's programs that will engage, challenge, and promote curiosity, along with teach basic skills. As for adults, the facility will offer programs to help stimulate community wide economic development focused on sustainability as well as address the needs of the communities we'll serve.
Thank you for your support of our mission, we are thrilled to take on this next phase of our journey with you. Read SEC news here on Fernando’s blog.
